China’s farthest offshore wind farm has achieved full-capacity grid connection
Date: 2025-12-17
How far can windpower go? We just set a new offshore record!
We have successfully connected an 800 MW offshore wind power project to the grid at full capacity. Located in Yancheng, East China's Jiangsu province, this project is the farthest offshore wind farm ever built in China, signifying a major breakthrough in the country's push to expand offshore wind power into deep and distant sea areas.

With the farthest point located 85.5 kilometers from the shore, this project features 98 massive turbines and is expected to generate over 2.8 billion kWh of electricity annually, enough to power 1.4 million households. It will also save approximately 860,000 tonnes of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 2.37 million tonnes.
